Coworking in Ho Chi Minh City is a popular choice for digital nomads, entrepreneurs, freelancers and writers, amongst others. In recent years, the range of coworking spaces in the city has boomed! Some visitors can find the choices overwhelming: this article should help you to find a nearby coworking space quickly.
A Brief Overview of Ho Chi Minh City
Ho Chi Minh City is a big place! The city (often called Saigon) is already home to 8.5 million people and the larger Ho Chi Minh City Metropolitan Area is on track to house 20 million people by 2020. It's easy to get lost with all the district names, so we've come up with a simple map.
Most of the action is located in the downtown area, the inner northern districts and the outer northern districts. We've reviewed each of these areas briefly below.
At present, there are very few options immediately to the east of the city. These are more traditional districts, such as District 5 and District 10. The southern districts are also lagging behind, but will no doubt catch up quickly as high rise developments are completed. District 4 and Phu My Hung in District 7 are areas to watch.
The Downtown Area of Saigon
District 1 and District 3 are the downtown area of Saigon, and many coworkers begin their time in these areas. It makes sense: these districts are home to many of the major banks, corporate offices and embassies. There is also a wide selection of coworking spaces, such as Dreamplex, Big Work, Ka Concept, Work Saigon, Circo Nguyen Trai, SI-Hub and Pepper House. Just over the river in District 4 is Circo.
The Inner Northern Districts of HCMC
The inner northern districts include Phu Nhuan, Binh Thanh and Tan Binh. These areas are really popular locations for people to live. There are also plenty of coworking spaces in these neighbourhoods, such as Saigon Coworking, Texo Spatium, Dreamplex 2 and Fun Work.
The Outer Northern Districts of HCMC
Slightly further from the downtown area is the wide leafy streets of District 2. Most of the coworking options are in Thao Dien. Go Work has recently had major additions and Toong @ The Oxygen is also just opening up. Both are well worth checking out if you are living in District 2.
Much further out to the north east is District 9 and Thu Duc. There is also some movement here, with plans for several coworking spaces to open soon. We will keep you posted!
An Ever-Changing List!
Of course, the list of coworking spaces provided above isn't exhaustive. Coworking spaces come and go, and in 2017, they seem to be opening at the rate of one per month! Seach now for the latest results.
There are ambitious plans for the growth of HCMC. Most of the growth is anticipated to the north east and the south, as the rail lines are built in coming years. No doubt this will open up exciting new working opportunities.
